Real meaning of Christmas 2009

I agree with you 100%.

I have learned that homemade gifts are fun and are really apreciated. Also asking for help from agency that love to see a child smile.

We were blessed this year. My youngest's father who is in prision signed her up for the Angel tree. I was shocked and thankful.

My other 3 are grown and their father passed away when they were young. I raised them on the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus, giving and joy.

What Thanksgiving means to me

Thanksgiving and Christmas are very special holidays for me.

These are holidays that my family quit fighting and enjoyed each other.

I have so many things to be thankful for. Beautiful Children, Friends, Family and a God that loves all of us. I can't ask for much more. I could spend time being sad about what I don't have but life is way to short to even go there for even more than a minute. I am human it does happen but then I remember I still can walk and may even be close to a diagnosis which is very important.

Every day is a blessing.

Hi!

I understand where you are coming from I also am a disabled mom. I have been living with a good friend for a year now with my 3 children.

I am looking for a place to live. Where I am looking are apartments or houses that place your rent at your income. We have several around our area.

I hope this advice helps. Let me know what happens.

About MELANIE'S MOMMY

First thing I would like to say is I am very impressed with you. You are getting a degree and are trying to improve you and your daughter's lives. If you have a Salvation Army in your area they sometimes have free dinners for Thanksgiving and so do some churches. Also many agencies help with food for the family.

Your Mom has raised a very smart daughter. Give her a hug for me. One mom to another.

8 Ways to Save Money

Thank you for the ideas. Another is instead of renting movies borrow them from the library for a few days.

Do you have a doller store in your state? For just a few dollers you can get a few things for them. My children always knew mom couldnt afford the big stuff but they were happy just with what mom tried to do. Also apply for all Christmas give aways that may be able to support your children like Salvation army, social services have lists of places that can help and your local churches. Schools even want to help if coats and boots are needed.

Let them look in catalogs and dream and let them know that its just a wish book but you would love to see what they would love to have someday.

Friends and family may be able to help out. Let me know how it goes and share ideas with me too.

I am making my own gifts this year.

living with chronic pain

I wake up in the morning with a smile knowing that I am alive! Getting out of bed not always that easy. Some morning's I make a bee-line for my meds. I have an unknown movement disorder, ephezema, fibromyaligia, restless leg syndrome and tintinitis. The docs are thinking for now maybe Parkinsons. M.S. has been ruled out. I am a mom of 4 with a 12 ,18 and 23 at home. I try hard to do my housework and some days get out and go to bible study, prayer shawl group or just visit. My problem is the good days I try to pack everything in. This of course gives a negative effect and spend most of the next day in the bed resting from fatigue. Then of course we have weather changes.

I try so hard not to complain because I know there are many more people out there worse of then me. I have found an old love of crocheting. In fact it is a good therepy for my hands keep them from cramping up so bad.

The problem with chronic pain is depression creeps in. Memories of things I use to do but can't do anymore. Not being able to play with my 12 like I did my older children. I use to be a very active person. Also just fighting constant pain ranging anywhere from a 3 to a 10 wears on a person.

I am also writing this to see how others handle chronic pain. I have found prayer is a miracle. I like to spend time with the Lord especially on days I can't handle and thank him for the good, great and in between days.

Living with friends

My family and I have spent the last year living with a good friend who took us in when we were in a dangerous situation. When we first moved in it was just me my 2 daughters and a dog. Now my son has moved in and we own another dog.

Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed my time here but after doing the searching that God wanted me to do and finding that I am a good person. It is time to get out on our own and let her have her house back. Because I told her before we started looking she is willing to help and her family is impressed. I don't know why. I just was trying to do what was right.

I believe if you live too long with a good friend you risk the chance of ruining a good friendship because no matter what there is always more than one way of looking at things at things can get confused and tempers explode.

Harvest Report of 09--Heirloom plants

 in response to sheshe030...

I agree completely. I love the feeling of dirt and being able to be involved in the growing process.

I don't know what I can grow next year as my family and I are moving but maybe you can give me plenty of advice and we can compare gardens.

Would love to see pics if you have any.

Ideas For Christmas

I have made my own ornaments but never thought of making my own tree that is a very good idea. Have you done this yourself?

My first tree when my oldest was just 6 months old was a tree branch in a wine jar,1 string of lights and 1 set of ornaments. I think it was the best tree I have ever had because it was made with love.

All but one of my children are grown up but we still love to make paperchains and string them around the house.

free rent...

Things have become sad in America when the only way to get off the street is to live with a stranger for sex.

Today's question - what would you do?

I would choose the child with 2 children living with her. This child didnt choose to be disabled and could use the extra help.

The other child's child is at the other parent's house. You can assist in helping  but this child can deal better. May need help with the alcohol it sounds.

I am impressed with your gardening! I planted my garden in the wrong spot this year. Hopefully next year I can have a better garden. Is all your garden in pots?

I am really impressed with your love for your neighbors. You are definatly following God's command to love our neighbors. You sound very cool.

Looking for Ideas on diagnosis

Hi! I have an unknown muscle disorder and am on medicaid in MI. I would like some advice on how to go about getting a diagnosis that will help me take better care of myself and my family. As it is fatigue is my biggest problem. That and the shakes and muscles spasms.
